This board monitors and regulates the complex vacuum and pressure infrastructure necessary for the high-vacuum operation of the mass spectrometer. It controls the sequencing, valve timing, safety interlocks, and communication protocols between the roughing/rotary pumps and the internal turbomolecular pumps.
